Database log-in Issues

There are several things that could be going on to keep you from getting into the databases off campus:

1)     Do you have pop-up blocker or a firewall either on your pc or through your internet service provider? If yes, the work around is to disable them.

2)     Does your service provider (ISP) have some sort of accelerator (like “high speed dial up”)? That causes issues with this service. If so, contact your ISP.

3)     Are you using an alternate browser (other than Internet Explorer or Netscape)? We changed some of the issues with Mozilla but others might cause a problem.

4)     If the answer to 1, 2 and 3 are no then:

It's possible that there was a transient issue with the Texshare server, and now the error message has been "cached" in the user's web browser. For instructions on clearing the cache files (aka "temporary Internet files"), see: www.texshare.edu/remote/faq.html.

Last, as a work-around in case there is a DNS issue (which would also be an ISP problem), you can have your user try this URL instead:

www.texshare.net/acclibrary/

(The .net replaces the .edu.)
